i maintain the neon bible, tho not as good as funeral, still has some great moments and is worthy of an occasional listen.
I'm not saying the record belongs in the garbage, but I assuredly will never listen to a single track off it ever again.

Then what would constitute a garbage record? Never listening to it AND a bad cover?

coolio, julio.  personally, "Keep the Car Running" and "No Cars Go" are tracks that are worthy of a re-listen... but, diff'rent strokes...

Manson, Vig, Erikson, and Marker.

There's a difference between something anodyne and something aurally offensive. I don't want to listen to this record again. If it came on, I would not scream "oh God, turn this off, it is so bad!" There are just simply thousands of much better records I could listen to instead.

Julian may be partial to the EP version of No Cars Go.

I think the album is solid almost all the way through, with only 2-3 I could consider skip-worthy (Black Wave, windowsill, title track). But this was another formative album for me and my objectivity is highly questionable.

Robert Smith says The Cure's dark and "relentless" new album, Songs of a Lost World, will be out by October.
with a very uncharacteristic quote

"It'll be worth the wait. I think it's the best thing we've done, but then I would say that. I'm not doing an Oasis when I say that, 'IT'S THE BEST FOOKIN' ALBUM.'"

New Wilco double album? More country?

Another boring album of slow, quiet, plodding Jeff Tweedy songs. Not very country.

There is much debate about it on the Wilco Facebook group. It's netierh rocking, nor partularly country. I do like it a little better than the last two, but I can't see myself listening to it five years from now.
