I dug up a rider from the 1990s

He really was an unfiltered camels guy til the end… and Jack

No beer?

No m&m’s

(I started this thread in part because I cannot remain a member of a board with three Trash Can Sinatra’s threads and not one Sinatra)

That was a bummer of a day

I remember being at Olson’s on Wisconsin Ave that day

I didn’t know then I would get into his music as much as I have… I think only the previous year I bought the cd compiling his first two 10” records Songs for Young Lovers / Swing Easy…and I was hooked… I Get A kick out of you and I’ve got you under my skin in particular…Also when I first really noticed Cole Porter

Wrapping up the second volume - well, still 210 pages to go- and we get to the song “Strangers in the night”….this was my introduction to Frank as my parents used to play it a lot…I kind of thought of it as a romantic song.

“I don’t want to sing this. It’s a piece of shit.” (At 50 he needed a hit. He sang it)

Frank Sinatra introducing “Strangers in the night” in Jerusalem in 1975:

“Here’s a song that I cannot stand. I just cannot stand this song. But what the hell.”

Oh well….

I actually just listened to a Sinatra album right before seeing this thread.  He sang some horrible schmaltzy shit, but I guess that was the times.
