So, I finally saw Radiohead. I admit, it was for my girlfriend mostly, but i really wanted to become a converted fan, I wanted to love their stuff. And I was hoping that hearing them live would do it for me.
Unfortunately, it didn't. Truely, their complex arrangemnts, changing time signatures, etc, are very impressive. But honestly, some of their stuff still just sounded like noise to me. Of their old singles they only played Creep. I would have like to hear maybe a Karma Police, but oh well. It was a cool experience, and we had really good floor seats thanks to the fan club. My only complaint were the ridiculous radiohead fans behind us who i could hear bitching and moaning about me when i sat down between the encores, saying it was a waste for me to get my tickets through the fan club if i was just gonna sit there. if i heard "get the fuck up" one more time, I was gonna start a fight. I paid the same amount they did, its my business what I do in my seats, as long as it doesn't affect them. Ass-holes!
Perhaps that is what bothers me about Radiohead, many of their fans. They are so into it, they think people who aren't are ignorant retards, that we just don't "get it", so we must me stupid. You can't be a real fan of music if you don't love Radiohead. Not all of you, but certainly the majority. Anyway, I had a good time, and I'll still appreciate Radiohead in my own little way, even if its not the "right" way.
