Radiohead @MSG
« on: October 14, 2003, 12:53:00 pm »
So, I finally saw Radiohead. I admit, it was for my girlfriend mostly, but i really wanted to become a converted fan, I wanted to love their stuff. And I was hoping that hearing them live would do it for me.

Unfortunately, it didn't. Truely, their complex arrangemnts, changing time signatures, etc, are very impressive. But honestly, some of their stuff still just sounded like noise to me. Of their old singles they only played Creep. I would have like to hear maybe a Karma Police, but oh well. It was a cool experience, and we had really good floor seats thanks to the fan club. My only complaint were the ridiculous radiohead fans behind us who i could hear bitching and moaning about me when i sat down between the encores, saying it was a waste for me to get my tickets through the fan club if i was just gonna sit there. if i heard "get the fuck up" one more time, I was gonna start a fight. I paid the same amount they did, its my business what I do in my seats, as long as it doesn't affect them. Ass-holes!

Perhaps that is what bothers me about Radiohead, many of their fans. They are so into it, they think people who aren't are ignorant retards, that we just don't "get it", so we must me stupid. You can't be a real fan of music if you don't love Radiohead. Not all of you, but certainly the majority. Anyway, I had a good time, and I'll still appreciate Radiohead in my own little way, even if its not the "right" way.

you can use the edit function, even in topic "headlines" as Dupek has clearly bilged.

It was a new feature when the board got updated a while ago. Its handy for those who cannot type or those who like a little subversion.

I hear you on all of that, redsock.  Those fans would have stirred me to some pretty bad behavior (had I drunk a beer or two or seven), I dare say.  That is *completely* obnoxious.  And how dumb are they -- by sitting, you're getting OUT of their way!  Sheez.

There is something to R.H. fans; if you don't love them, you're missing it all and you're a shallow fool.  It's kind of infuriating.  While I may be a fool, I'm not shallow!

yeah, i could see people bitching because you WERE in their way, but bitching because you sat down?  wierd.  I think that sounds more NYC than Radiohead fans.

and as for those fans....Radiohead fans are people, and most people are assholes, no matter which band they like most  ;)

i wish it was possible for me to avoid just ONE radiohead thread.

Bagster, you ignorant, shallow fool.    ;)

redsock, yeah, those two particular rhead fans were idiots. To bitch at someone for sitting down.. and getting out of their way.. therefore giving you a better look at the show. Def idiots.

If you're gonna bitch at someone at a show, bitch at the moron who spends half the show on his cell phone.. as I saw a couple of people do that at the Columbia, MD, Radiohead show this past August. Don't go to ANY show and do that. It's just asinine.
