That was an amazing save. Messi was angry at himself post-game but he kicked it well!

No way you can convince me Morocco is more than Belgium…
The JA set has always been going to Brussels and its fine but Marrakesh and Tangier is so hot right now.

Japan was so impressive. Those minutes at the beginning of the second half were bonkers!!

If this is what you are focusing on today you are doing the World Cup wrong.

One would say Japan’s win was a fluke but they did the exact same to Germany. At a given point with their backs against it they put in some subs and attack attack attack and overrun you. It’s admirable. In a game where so many teams prefer to sit back and hope for a chance here or there the Japanese just go for it. Pardon the reference but it’s not meant as a put down: they went for it like kamikaze pilots… to just throw everything you got at offensive juggernauts like Spain and Germany is almost so insane that both teams got rattled and just lost their shit.

This pitch invader during the Portugal-Uruguay match was holding a rainbow flag.
The front of his shirt read 'Save Ukraine' and the back read 'Respect For Iranian Women.'

Gorgeous second goal by Uruguay with great finish by Arrascaeta

One of the fun things is seeing players you know from club soccer triumph on the world stage… I remember seeing Arrascaeta play great in the Copa Libertadores (South American equivalent of champions) for a Brazil side and thinking damn my kind of player: a classic “10” of which there are fewer every day… Argentina, for example, doesn’t have one!

Although truth be told they have him playing on the right…

Teams seem to have given up on the “10”

Well that sucked. Did the ref screw them over? Sure, he seemed to have it in for them from the get go. But you just can’t stop attacking trusting Portugal will beat Korea.

Rightly punished for being stingy.

Christian Pulisic has been cleared to play in tomorrow’s match versus Netherlands.
