goal over/under is 2.5 (i'd take the over).

In 90 minutes?   I'm not so sure I would.

For 80 minutes I was spot on.  Shockingly brilliant last 10 minutes....

I did win a $1k yesterday and spent it all on Fernet for anybody willing.

Fernet
I don't get the Fernet thing in SF.  If you work in the service industry, it's like the only option for a shot
I like that cough syrup stuff every once in a while.  but one shot is enough for a year in my book

had me on the edge of my seat.  i disagree with messi getting the MVP award.  mbappe kept a stoic face when he came out to get his golden boot, but it clearly meant very little to him (not sure the MVP would have been any more meaningful...)

If by new you mean "was eight years ago".

I feel like Fernet became big in the cocktail scene nationwide like 5-ish years ago. Hipsters were drinking it a few years before that. Add 3-5 years for SF where it first got a beachhead in the US.

Fernet has been a San Francisco thing since the 1800's, but really regained popularity in the late 90's.  There's a great SF Gate article about it.  I'm not a fan myself, but it only seemed appropriate after Argentina won.

Absolutely…it’s the most popular drink in Argentina (after beer and wine)

Of course not. Nobody cares about those awards. I agree with Messi getting it but could care less. I remember when Messi got it in 2014 after losing the final to Germany and was utterly disgusted about it. Mbappe would have been the same I bet….

The cup is in Buenos Aires! Millions upon millions celebrating in the streets.

I was talking to my sister on Saturday before the final about why it should be that this trophy should mean so much to us. There is no rhyme or reason to it and I don’t have the answers but it just does… For sure Argentina is a hardcore footballing country; it’s fans the most passionate. Our national team may be the one thing that unites us.
