Ugh, not sure this line of reasoning is good

Stacy Mason, EWA’s executive director. “We find it unconscionable that two men could represent California in the U.S. Senate after the historic role this state has played.”

… why is this in the deplorable thread?

Holy shit. Texas republicans introduced a bill to give huge tax cuts to *straight* couples having children—with up to 100% cut in property taxes for TEN kids.

The bill’s author said “Get married, stay married, and be fruitful and multiply.”

This is handmaid’s tale shit.

https://twitter.com/SawyerHackett/status/1631293564293447685?s=20

and there is a clause in this bill that states

"Qualifying married couple means a man and a woman who are legally married to each other, neither of whom have ever been divorced."

and of course propety tax funds public schools, so lots of racisim here

The party of smaller government and always complaining about how big tech is “violating” their first amendment rights, just passed a law actually violating people’s first amendment rights.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee governor signs drag show restrictions into law, becoming first state to severely limit the performances.

As someone pointed out there are upcoming Broadway productions of Mrs. Doubtfire and Hairspray that are now both illegal in TN.

I know the irony is not lost on this crowd, but the amount of divorces in the GOP is too damn high for the self proclaimed righteous

This is not Savage’s first foray into politics. He previously ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council in 2022.

And here I thought the most interesting thing that happened in this race was "progressive" Katie Porter's googly eyes at Bibi

Well Schiff who is Jewish has been a big recipient of $ from American Jews for decades so this isn’t a huge surprise from Porter.

Punk rock singer testifies on Proud Boys' behalf at sedition trial

WASHINGTON, March 20 (Reuters) - A former singer for the punk rock band The Misfits testified on behalf of five far-right Proud Boys members on Monday that he was asked to perform for them on the afternoon of Jan. 6, 2021, evidence their lawyers said shows they had no intention to attack the Capitol that day.

Michale Graves, lead singer of the Misfits from 1995 to 2000, acknowledged that members of the Proud Boys may have been guilty of trespassing on Capitol grounds. But he said he did not believe they had any intention of targeting Congress.

"I know for a fact there was not some elaborate plan to take over the Capitol that day on Jan 6,” he told the 12-member jury at the Proud Boys trial.
