Who needs AI when you have the Pentagon Pizza Index

which is a thing I just learned about today...

so now the Pentagon is going to have to cover this up... before the next big op, they'll hoard pizzas and pay a bunch of guys to go sit in gay bars in arlington?

But allegedly they are paying a signing bonuses for AI talent in the order of $100 million to
28 year old Alexandr Wang

Zuke bought his company scale.ai for $3.6 billion

it was bound to happen, so it happened:

a new band called Velvet Sundown started climbed the Spotify charts a few months ago with their classic rock sound - and started raking in the dollars.  fans were confused about how this band came outta nowhere, had never done a live gig, released 3 albums within 2 months, and none of the band members had any social media presence outside of the band's online profiles.  pundits accused them of being an AI creation, which the band vehemently denied...

... until they didn't: Rock band with more than 1 million Spotify listeners reveals it’s entirely AI-generated — down to the musicians themselves.  also: Are The Velvet Sundown an AI Band? What We Know

luckily (i guess) Nobody Cares If Music Is Real Anymore

Pffft. I saw Velvet Sundown open for Milli Vanilli and they blew them off the stage.

Surveillance?
although AI has been doing this for decades, we just didn't call it that

I like this one...

Traffic optimization in cities
Pittsburgh use AI-powered systems to adjust traffic lights in real-time.
Reduced travel time by 25%, emissions by 21%.

Virginia just became the first state to deploy agentic AI for government operations through Executive Order 51.

Using AI agents to scan and streamline thousands of pages of state regulations.
