well it took long enough for this record to come out... i picked up an advanced CD almost a year ago, based primarily on his decent set with Starsailor last year. having never heard John Mayer, I can't comment on that comparsion, the record at least the version I have is a bit uneven. some songs work and others don't... not sure i'd go out of my way to see him live.
