Who Is The Lead Singer?

Because I'm feeling feisty this morning, I'll start with

The Selecter and for their best known song "Too Much Pressure", I'll contend that Gaps is clearly serving as a Lead Singer/Toaster in the group and is doing the heavy lifting on this one.

there is a GREAT episode on the M&Ps in Andrew Hickey's the history of rock and roll in 500 songs podcast
it's named "San Francisco" and starts with "eve of destruction' before getting in to the m&ps.  it's amazing how big an impact they had and other things around Montrey pop fest
and how lame they were to Michelle Phillips and Cass (who really was probably the most important person, yet constantly derided)

It’s interesting how many people don’t appreciate that Beatles songs tend to be either a John song or a Paul song or a George song (or a Ringo song).  Like you walk through Strawberry Fields in Central Park and someone may be playing Yesterday and it seems like most people don’t even realize it’s not celebrating John.

The Cars? Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr, the two dead guys, had similar voices (or at least sang in similar styles).

yeah, I don't know how I didn't know this until recently....Orr was off the map for me...I'd even seen him singing song in videos and still didn't realize he was half the vocals
