My better half got this from someone who ships orders from  the UK, I had seen someone who already got hit with that $80 fee for ordering 3 albums

You thought shipping was bad before! "From 29 August 2025, the U.S. will end its “de minimis” duty exemption. In plain English: all imports, no matter their value, may soon face customs duties and extra fees.
We ship your orders via Royal Mail, and it’s still unclear how these changes will fit into their system. Some postal services are already preparing to charge a flat fee (around $80 USD) or collect duties before delivery."

Listen to this guy, Benny Johnson, go on and on about dc and how neighborhoods should be bulldozed
like a propaganda piece from Goebbels. Literally made me sick to my stomach. I'm sure the administration is behind this narrative as well, which is even more creepy.

One life hack I've picked up over the years:  you are not, in any way, shape or form, required to listen to Benny Johnson on anything!

gonna be totally honest, until this week I had never even heard of the guy.
But I heard him make up some bullshit statistics and things that happened to him at a White House press briefing just the other day, and then I heard this, and my jaw dropped. So I will ignore him from now on, but other people are listening to him sadly

It's just scary right now because there are literal boots on the ground in dc

yikes have you seen these MAGA minute of the week things
they are really breaking the mold on running the US

sadly, they know they can sway elections via phones and social media
Official WH comms in a TikTok style delivery...is going to reach people who never voted and win close elections, becuase we'll be looking at polls of likely voters

I really don't like the Newsom approach and am worried we are on the other side at this point and have to play the game
as the rules have 100% changed
Dems just seem l like they are floundering, disarray seems polite

mail in ballots...
might be on the dropping like flies page soon

will be harder, as it's state by state, but all they need is a few states to be like 'we are eliminating mail in ballots, drop boxes and early voting'

I'd like to drop this stat right here

Mail‑in ballots accounted for about 30% of all votes in the 2024 presidential election—down from 43% in 2020 but still above pre‑pandemic levels

obviously not happening in states like Washington, but there are some battle ground states that could go ballistic on who fits the criteria for mail in

and do I need to say it who leans heavy on mail in voting...

welp if the CEO of Intel had just brought trump a bar of gold, none of this would have ever happened

@realDonaldTrump
The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem!

so there is a kernel of truth here: the ceo of intel owns and/or leads several companies in china - a few of which have known ties to the CCP.  chip-makers have a national security role, so this isn't completely out of left field... but again, how it is being handled is, shall we say, less than optimal.

ok back to mob tactics...We'll just take a part of your biz-ness as we know what's best

The U.S. government is currently in early-stage discussions to acquire a direct stake in Intel. This initiative follows a recent meeting between President Donald Trump and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, which aimed to address national security concerns about American technological independence, as well as Intel’s ongoing struggles to compete

This kind of direct government investment in a tech giant marks a notable departure from the more hands-off approach favored by nearly all previous U.S. administrations. Traditionally, federal support for chipmaking came mainly in the form of grants or subsidies, such as those allocated under the CHIPS Act. Trump’s approach appears to favor direct equity stakes, echoing recent White House moves in other sectors, such as the federal government taking a “golden share”

So I'm confused, this 100% sounds like the gov't taking over the means of production?  sounds kinda commie to me
