"win"?  a little melodramatic, now?  the AfD made gains, but they didn't win.  the new coalition will not admit them, so they'll continue to be powerless.

The AfD got the most % of votes a far right party has got since WW2 and doubled their percentage since the last election (in the highest turnout election since 1987 : 83-84%!!!!).

Now I get that the right of center CDU will not govern with them….but I would say the vote is a win for the right.

I mean this is Europe. If the AfD getting 20% isn’t a win is 29% for the CDU a win? It’s very ominous…if the CDU fails where will many of their voters end up?

We do have the precedent of Hitler. His party started with 3% then 18% then 33%.

Meanwhile in the current election the principal left of center party obtained something like 16%.

Yes, I would say very ominous. The CDU better forma government quick and take decisive action (not necessarily easy in a coalition government).

he suggested that federal paychecks are going to nonexistent employees. He did not present evidence for his claims.

I see this playing out is they will find one or two incidents where this actually did happen (most likely a clerical error) and use this as evidence that the vast majority are like that

Destroyed lives and traumatized many...for no savings on 1/3 of them!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/economy/nearly-40-of-contracts-canceled-by-doge-are-expected-to-produce-no-savings/ar-AA1zIXFp

The Department of Government Efficiency, run by Trump adviser Elon Musk, published an updated list Monday of nearly 2,300 contracts that agencies terminated in recent weeks across the federal government. Data published on DOGE's “Wall of Receipts” shows that more than one-third of the contract cancellations, 794 in all, are expected to yield no savings.

This week, about 40 news organizations signed onto a letter organized by the White House Correspondents Association, urging the White House to reverse its policy against the AP. They included outlets like Fox News Channel and Newsmax, where many of the on-air commentators are Trump supporters
