so they were saying about 250,000  does that seem accurate?

Major edit: participated nationwide.

I suspect that we will start seeing protests in the hundreds of thousands in multiple cities and the totals will be in the millions

To be fair, some our best and finest were deterred by the rain or were unknowingly swept up in adjacent protests.

You got some nerve to complain here and in my Facebook post with pictures from protest about the count when you were out joyriding on your Vespa.

As my better half put it anybody who didn’t show needs to shut the fuck up about the lack of attendance or not. Personally thought it was a good showing. Better than the Iraq War protests. But compared to protests in rest of world…yeah ..shameful…but priorities like Vespa club.

FTR I didn’t ride at all

I actually just helped set up until about 1 then drove out to sterling for a volleyball tournament that didn’t end until 7

Should I have told my kid to skip her tournament that her team won bronze , because daddy needs to attend this protest

But whatever, it was a tepid showing and you know it.   The womens march and BLM one’s were massively bigger
I was hoping it would be bigger and if I didn’t have a commitment I likely would have gone.

Weird that I can’t say that?

Like I said STFU.

I took my pictures for my son cause he wanted pictures of signs not because I wanted to show off crowd size to people that didn’t bother attending. Then when I got home I thought hey these are funny maybe some people who couldn’t attend would appreciate seeing them which they did. Only you chimed in with a cynical lame ass comment. I also think for myself given I have friends who live around the world which we are supremely fucking over I have a bit of personal responsibility to show that at least some Americans give enough of a shit to attend a protest in the nation’s capital. To me it’s sort of a no brainer that living in DC every once in a while - and it had been a good while- you have to take some sort of action however limited.

Man, you do the math…for yourself and live with it.

I can’t tell you how to live your life. I just think if you didn’t bother attending then STFU about those that did. Obviously you could have made arrangements and attended. I had friends who showed up late afternoon so there was a big window. Pretty much all day.

Am sure those that have resisted dictatorships have had it inconvenience their personal lives.

The history books will surely cite my lack of attendance as the tipping point

Let’s be clear I have attended dozens of protests on the mall/in front of the WH.

I have yet to poo poo participation

I think it’s great, so not sure why stating it looked like a poor turnout equals joining MAGA and welcoming the dictatorial regime

I didn’t say any of that but your comments are all about lack of attendance and that is exactly what Fox News will say. That is what you got from my pictures and that is all you said on facebook. You expressed no other thought. Then you expressed the same thought here and developed it further….

As far as tipping point I would only say an individual can only control what they do themselves. If every individual thinks they are but one limited person so what’s the big to do as they won’t make the difference then of course collective action is hopeless. Surprised you don’t understand that

And maybe you were at the anti Iraq war protests like at the same monument the day we started bombing Iraq and CNN said “now that the decision has been made to go to war to protest would be unpatriotic “…. Maybe you were there that day… I don’t recall seeing you there or at any of the subsequent protests on Lafayette square… but you may well have been there….at different times…or I just don’t remember….Cool

A lot of people now remember themselves always having been against the Iraq war (2003) but I sure don’t remember a lot of people there at the protest…

I have zero problem with people not attending a protest but then shut the fuck up about those that do…certainly do not minimize them…

And if you must comment say something like “Oh cool glad you made it out…looks great….”

That seems logical to me…what part of this are you not getting? It’s not hard man.
