I heard good things about Rapideyemovement. What ever happened with them?

Just realized the irony of the above given the ruckus my initialism caused elsewhere.

The way I remember it there were two REM’s that played the old 930 and pistols at dawn determined who kept the coveted name. The rest is history: the winner conquered the world while the loser slunk home in shame never to be heard from again and having to endure REM songs for eternity.

The 9:30 Book covers this showdown of the REMs. It was very obvious to the other REM that they would have to change their name as soon as Mike Stipe and friends took the stage.  I think it was Mike Mills who ended up suggesting the new name for the losing REM. Can't think of the name off the top of my head.
