thanks to nkotb i'm rehashing memories of when a good part of my social circle included forum regulars some of which attended parties at the homestead..

of particular note was my one attempt at having a house concert with a couple of my friends performing, which resulted in the meeting of ggw and rhett along with relaxer and pretty sure markie and lulu were in attendance as well

fun times

I joined the first iteration of the forum shortly after moving to the area in the late 90s which I believe ran on something called Blackboard.  The only people I remember from then are nkotb and thirsty moore.  possibly suede and one other whose name eludes me.

it was around this time the club invited forum members to a behind the scenes tour of the club on a Saturday afternoon which was pretty nifty.

Looking at the registration dates the second version went online 2001 and looking at the list of users registering around that time you do see some very familiar faces joining the fray. Drawing a blank on that forum setup before it was transitioned to Simple Machines.

Having fun with the Wayback Machine obviously you can't actually see the forum but here is what greeted you then

Man oh man, that's bringing me back.  jadetree, mankie, fico, Sir HC, Venerable Bede.

It's insanely Old Man, i know, but there really was a magic to the early internet that I don't think can be replicated.  It's ok, and something new can be great, but you'll never capture that again, you know?

Here goes around the time of beginning of the second forum and the name I was trying to recall was Ian Curtis who may have been on the original forum, as I recall he left shortly after 9/11 occurred
