Courtney Love on Letterman TONIGHT!

Talking, not performing. Watch it or set yer VCR/Tivo/whatever. This'll be a real trainwreck.

Seemingly, Courtney was  arrested after the Letterman appearance.

I saw the commercials for the show earlier in the evening, so I taped it.  Haven't seen it yet, but they replayed virtually the whole thing on Howard Stern this morning.  She's an absolute crackpot.  Will share video if anyone's interested...

She falls squarely in the category of "should have given up years ago."  I mean, come on...

I was at a Hole show in, oh, was it 95?  Anyway, there was some guy in a business suit in the front and she yelled at him and had security escort him out with some "you can't buy your way to the front of my show" rant.  What a freak.

I don't suppose anyone here has gotten or heard her new album?  I like old Hole, but don't feel like bothering with America's Sweetheart just because she's such a loon (and I have two Hole albums, which seems enough...)

i'll bet it was staged, seeing as on the lollapalooza tour she always ended her sets by kicking over her amp.  verses the arrest last night, going quietly without a fuss indicates that the mic stand throwing antic went wrong.

if i were letterman i would have rather just  seen drews orbs   :o

I have it.  It's louder than "Celebrity Skin".  Less  aggressive and more melodic than "Live Through This".  If you like Hole, you'll like this.  If you don't like Hole, this isn't going to change your mind.  I happen to like it, but she's definitely not breaking any new ground here.  The first track could easily be mistaken for The Donnas.

I think it's the 'not breaking any new ground' that will keep me from buying it.  There are just some bands that I think,  "you know, two ______insert band name________ albums are all a person needs."  Some of my examples (which will be roundly mocked, I'm sure) are Duncan Sheik, Freedy Johnston, Cocteau Twins, Tori Amos, Kate Bush.

I agree.  Mine was a gift.  I probably wouldn't have it otherwise.

She's such an idiot -- 'According to fans at the gig, Love came out before the show and said "If any of you are planning on getting injured, please go outside and get yourself arrested now."'

Ahm, hello, you're the one who gets arrested when you injure a fan, not the injuree, you doof.  Look at me, trying to make sense of Ms. Love...
 *****************************

COURTNEY'S NEW YORK STATE OF MIND (NME)

COURTNEY LOVE has just finished a gig at the NEW YORK BOWERY BALLROOM - where she spoke for the first time about yesterdayâ??s dramatic arrest.

As previously reported, Love was arrested after a secret gig at New Yorkâ??s Plaid nightclub on Wednesday (March 17).

The star is facing charges of reckless endangerment and third-degree assault after a mic stand was allegedly thrown into the audience, striking a member of the crowd.

A nightclub spokesperson claimed the stand hit a 24-year-old man in the head, who suffered minor injuries. Unaware of what had happened the band continued, but the star was greeted by police when she came off the stage.

Last night (March 18) Love was back playing live at the larger Bowery Ballroom.

According to fans at the gig, Love came out before the show and said "If any of you are planning on getting injured, please go outside and get yourself arrested now."

After the first song, she added: "I'm losing my voice. Jail does that to you."

Fans say that the singer complained about her voice, and at one point gestured to a roadie and said: "I want that thing I kill people with. A mic stand."

The starâ??s trip to New York has been eventful, almost from her arrival. Love also performed and was interviewed on David Letterman to promote her current solo album â??Americaâ??s Sweetheartâ??.

During the interview Love appeared to bare her chest away from the camera while standing on Letterman's desk.

I have America's Sweetheart. It's a very good record. It's not the disaster you would expect from seeing her on Letterman or reading about her.  Too bad she can't pull herself together because she really made an excellent record.

Wouldn't be surprised if the producer made a good record as opposed to Love. Haven't seen her live and don't really have a clue what she's like to work with; musically, that is. She draws in the money so the record company would be much more willing to hire all the extras needed to pull off a polished product. I just can't for the life of me imagine her being able to do much without an army of professionals by her side to clean up her total wreck of a life.

This was great T.V.!! This is one guest that producers love to have........a total train wreck that you don't know where or when exactly it's going to jump the tracks.......this appearance ranks right up there with some classic Dave.....Crispin Glover and Farrah Fawcett come to mind.....I would love to see her host her own show maybe one hour a week......I'm just in awe of a woman who has all the money in the world and a large fan base, and has no idea how to keep it all together.....amazing stuff.....
