She's doing a one-off show in NYC at the Knitting Factory on Wednesday. Of course, tickets sold out almost immediately. I hope she ventures back to DC beyond the Lolla festival.

Where do you see that? Unless you've scrolled down too far. The last time she played the 930 was Sept. 10, 2001.

I know her soundman, at least I think he is still working with her. I'll see if I can find any skinny on what her plans are.

From Billboard.com:

For the second time in a week, PJ Harvey dropped in on a small club in New York for an unannounced set Saturday at the 150-capacity Pianos. Unlike her June 2 performance at the Knitting Factory, the show was entirely an acoustic affair that found group leader Polly Jean Harvey accompanied only by guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

The seven-song set kicked off just after midnight with "Uh Huh Her," the title cut of Harvey's new Island album, due tomorrow. It also featured a blistering version of "Rid of Me" and the-show closing "Who the F***?," which found the rest of her band adding backing vocals and sipping champagne.

Harvey and company will be seen tonight (June 7) on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman." The group begins international headlining and festival dates Thursday in Amsterdam and will be abroad through July 30 at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival. A run of shows on the Lollapalooza tour kicks off Aug. 9 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
