Rock & Roll Call
« on: August 25, 2006, 12:04:00 pm »
Anyone else going to The Rock & Roll Hotel tonight for the Gypsy Eyes showcase? I dropped by there for their "soft opening" the other night and it's pretty awesome. I'm excited for tonight's show...

union station or new york ave. from union, you still have to trek 14 blocks east on h street. from new york, you still have to trek 14 blocks down florida. there are bus lines down each street. other than that, eastern market and potomac ave are the closest, but they're really not even close.

That's the problem with this H St. Corridor - it's kind of a pain to get to, unless you're driving or if you don't mind cabbing it.

I know The Red & The Black provides a free shuttle back to Union Station on Fri and Sat nights; will the R&R Hotel do the same?

I was there last night; great line-up and I can't say enuf good things about the staff, acoustics, music hall/bar arrangement and the upstairs "lounges".  It's surely going to be one of my favorite hangouts for music AND cocktails.  The way the ticket concession and security is set-up, one doesn't have to buy a ticket to the music venue to get into the upstairs lounge and bar.

It IS a long walk from Union Station, over twelve blocks - and an uphill climb over the long bridge.  I've been up to the Red&Black four or five times and never had a problem parking.  Last night, I got a space right across from the entrance to the "Hotel" .  Hope everyone has as much fun as I had!
