Because they like baseball? Why do people wear
anything with a sports team's logo on it, when they're not a member of that team? Why do people wear jerseys with players' names on them, when they're not that player?
It's a frickin'
style of hat, one that's become extremely popular. Does everything stay within its place of origin? You may as well ask why anyone wears any kind of hats at all. They might just want to keep the sun out of their eyes, especially while playing golf. Perhaps they want to retain some of the large amount of heat lost through your head on chilly and/or windy days. Maybe they don't like the haircut they just got. I wore one as part of my
uniform in the Navy, for goodness sake. Or maybe they just feel like wearing the damn thing. I really don't understand why that should bother anyone.
