I have the Great Eastern.  Don't have "Hate" -- but really, in a way I'm glad I get to buy it at the show as I bought Great Eastern at Amoeba (which means they got no cash) and was blessed with Peloton and Domestiques as a gift.

Hate is def. their best.  One of my favorite albums of that year.

Just to take a contrary point of view..... I think that Hate has a lot of songs that sound just like tracks from the great eastern, but with new words.
 
 Or to put it another way hate didnt really advance their musical palette the way that the great eastern did.

they seemed a lot more happy and playful, as much as they can be considering their material, than last year. i thought it was a great show. and done very well to the point that i didn't miss the string players.
