was a great show, anybody go to Saint Ex for their DJ set?
markie and lulu were planning on it - I hear they had a lot of catching up to do with the band   :p

I so would have gone to Saint-Ex, if the group i was with didn't all want to go home...damn it. One of them blamed it on careers...puh-lease...I don't have a career, I have a shitty job that barely pays the bills, who cares if you're out till 2 in the morning damn it!

cafe saint ex was pretty cool...........even though it was full of waaaaaay to many scottish gadgies...........

the show was brilliant last night, i thought the lack of strings would make a huge difference to their sound, but it really didn't make that much of a difference...........

and i think you are all crazy.........no member of that band is hot..........

Ummmmm,

Well I thought that was an excellent show.

But I listened to Hate this morning in the car and it really does sound much better with strings. Just playing really loud to cover up their absence isn't a real substitute for the shear beauty of last time.

Emma is tiny and needs better support.

I decided it was best to leave the band mostly alone this time.

Can I just say, the highlight of the night for me, though I did think it was a great show, was while talking with a friend about BigYawn, a random stranger came over to us, and asked "What website are you talking about?" I answered, "BigYawn." His reply, "That is such a great site, I love BigYawn." The Delgados could have blown and I would still have left a happy man. Whoever you are buddy, thanks for making my night.

I thought it was a really good show -- I wouldn't say brilliant, but that's probably because I don't love them yet.  I just started listening to their albums a couple weeks ago.  But they were tight, fun, and the music is really interesting.

As you can tell by my fondness for Domestiques, I love it when they let loose and just wham on their instruments -- they do it well.  I'd love a bit more of that.  I think when they come back in October to support a new album, it will be brilliant.  I really dug the new songs, especially the one mid-set.

SO how was the DJ gig at Saint Ex??  You haven't told us?!?

And why do you fight with the band if you love 'em so much?   :D

You're as easy to get as they say I am! You take your hotties *very* seriously, don't you lu...

And we do have that overuse of ellipses in common.....

PS, Malcome whats-his-name, the opener, is the "anti-nkotb."  VERY quiet talker, I couldn't hear a thing he said between songs.  Very sad songs.  Very very sad songs.  I'm evil; they were so sad, I laughed a little.

That drunk chic with the mod dress and shag hairdo, a la pinky tuscadero?

I was sure she was going to jam her lit cigarette on markie's ass -- ooooh she was all over the place in an odd gremlin kind of way.

Markie usually pays extra for that.
