Give Responsibly
« on: September 04, 2005, 07:41:00 pm »
As you are giving to charities for the victims of Katrina, or anything else for that matter, please be weary of everyone who claims to be aiding the cause. Some are fantastic and others are nothing but grifters. Also, being well known isn't necessarily an indication of quality or responsible caring.

Easily said, I know, but hard to investigate. Assuming this site is reliable, this may help a few of you.

For a few days after the hurricane, Operation Blessing (Pat Robertson's organization) was listed at the top of FEMA's "donate" page, right after the Red Cross!       I just checked and they've taken it down.....

Wow, $2000 worth of crack.  That won't last too long.  There has to be a better way.
