I'm very much there.

Asked last time I was there if it'll sell out in advance and was told "no way."

I was set to go, but then I realized it's the same night as Indiana Jones. I have my priorities....

I should be there if i can convince someone to take the trek back to dc with me that day.  loving the new cd, and would love to hear it live.

there there there. the new songs are good. i missed them the last time they were at bc, so the only time i've seen them was when they opened for metric at 930 and it was like 7pm because it was an early show and the crowd seemed to be composed completely of high school students. this show'll be funner.

did anyone make it?

seems like from the dcist review that they didn't play "rough gem", how is that possible?!

I guess it was ok.

The overly yappy crowd and subpar sound (even for Blac Cat standards) took a lot away from it for me.

I did like hearing the new material live and thought it was played well, though.

I did like the show very much, but that's because I'm familiar with the new material. Not sure if I'd enjoy it if I wasn't.  :)

mr.thorburn was being a dick. i get that he likes his new jammy songs more than the pop songs from return to the sea but i would rather that he'd play everything from the new album than begrudgingly play "don't call me whitney, bobby" as some kind of concession to the crowd. "blah blah... now we'll play something that you guys'll actually like, but really i hate this song." sorry guy, people came to the show because they like your band and just because you're past the stuff you used to sing doesn't mean that you should make people feel bad for wanting to hear it by denouncing it on stage.

He was a super dick the last Unicorns show at the Black Cat.  Just super condescending between song banter.
