i think it's impossible to have fun in orlando, unless you like golf.  i hear they have some excellent golf courses. . so, get yourself a 12 pack, and have a good time.

Central Florida is a hell hole. However, if you went around spring training time, there will be some baseball to see (albeit mostly in Clearwater and Tampa). Otherwise, enjoy Olive Garden, Outback, and TGI Friday's in strip malls!

yes, thanks Captian Geography.  I don't think I'll be free during the day, so I'll need more night time activities (kinda ruling out golf and the beach). and I'm going one week before Spring Training  :(

good call. . .although there are also teams in the melbourne area on the atlantic side (the nationals, for one, are in melbourne, and the dodgers are in vero beach, which is south of melbourne).

I know you don't want to hear about Disney. But I know The House of Blues either in or around downtown Disney has some good shows. Don't know the schedule when your gonna be there but It's worth a look I think.

I lived there for 3 years and I would think more qualified to speak of the place than anyone....it is truly a desolate wasteland of culture.....goddamn how bad that place was.....but,there have been a few places pop up in the last few years.....Will's Pub and The Social come to mind.....The Beach club was pretty cool and has since gone out of business I think......I don't go back there but still know some folks who inhabit the city.....HOB and Hard Rock get some decent things on occasion also, but I would concentrate downtown.....The Firestone for the techno-disco thing is usually pretty hopping I hear.....when are you heading down and I can get you a more detailed list maybe off group to keep you occupied??
