If you want to fly to see Bumbershoot in Seattle, you can see them for $18. For that price, you can also see (on the same day):

 Ted Leo
 Flogging Molly
 General Public
 French Kicks
 Buckwheat Zydeco
 Sonny Landreth
 Be Good Tanyas
 Decemberists
 Aqueduct
 Tegan and Sara
 Keren Ann
 the Waybacks

 ...plus more te be announced...

I want to go on Saturday night, but those tickets are not yet on sale.  I wonder why?  Do they think that perhaps they will only do the Sunday night show?

Frequent Flier Miles, my friend. Got me free trips to San Francisco and Seattle this year, and I'm halfway to another free trip. Plus, my brother lives in Seattle so we have a free place to stay.

Get yerself a frequent flier membership. Hell, I've earned 4 or 5 free trips and I'm not really a frequent flier...

what frequent flyer program do you use?

Re: Devo

Continental.

We've had to do weird things like book six months in advance or take trips that included changing flights, or weird hours, or only flying on certain days, or flying on parther airlines (Delta and Northwest...those don't show up on the Continental search...had to call and ask about them) etc, but have always found something. Only domestic flights though, no look on international flights.

My mom has USAir, and has been able to get free flights to Seattle and South Carolina (I imagine there's not much competition for that one). I think the USAIR partner is United.

yeah, maybe i just need to try harder. Problem with USAir is that i can get flights, just not the dates i want them. Its been a while since i just travelled for the hell of it. mostly its for shows or events and i cant just go the next weekend or whatever.

I have enough miles for a free RT ticket to Europe now!!!

There's a direct flight between Philadelphia and Barcelona with USAir, use your miles to go there. I have lots of miles with American Airlines, but the same happens there, impossible to find tickets the dates you want unless you do it six months in advance.

This is a message to the Owners/Managers/Ticket Pricers of 9:30!

Please lower the ticket prices of the DEVO concert I have been to a plenty o' concerts at your fine establishment, but have not had to pay $55 I have had to pay service charges but that I can deal with if Devo ticket prices are a bit lower so that students like me can afford to go and see a great event such as this!!

 Thanks!
 Bob
