was that about the time they started doing "acoustic" parts of the sets?  by acoustic meaning they brought out stools for the band to sit on and strum hollow body electric guitars and slowly pluck the electric bass.

I liked J.E.E.P. and that was of the acoustic time. The newest album, on the other hand, is a bit of a stinker.

 By the way, Bowie tix would make a great gift for me as well, since my birthday is just a couple days after the show.
 
 Buzz from the Vegas show was really good -- lots of the Bowie classics.  Of course, he played a 1200 person venue, which must have been amazing.
