Hah that one did come to mind.

I'd do BYOP->sick velvet lineup next friday if I didn't have a wedding to attend.

The Velvet lineup is still doable, though.

I'll be the guy all dressed up and feeling all sorts of awkward.  :)

Back to the topic at hand:
Masaki Batoh/Helena Espval opening for Damon and Naomi (great on disc but a snoozefest live).

Going to see Muse last year at Merriweather and leaving before My Chemical Romance went on.

Pelican toured opening for Thrice recently.

Explosions in the sky typically have great openers (Eluvium, Lichens).

That reminds me; I need to make a few additions to the "snailhook..." thread.

are you saying that EITS are a worse act than their openers?  eluvium was sweet, but it's not as if he blew EITS out of the water - i still preferred the headliner.  and let's not forget that wedged between them was The Paper Chase, arguably one of the least enjoyable openers i have ever experienced.

it was indeed a great set, but death cab put on a very respectable performance afterwards.  i too was wondering, after that amazing set, what the hell dcfc would have to come up with to not look lame.  FF were still the highlight of the night, but dcfc managed to pull it off.

I'm just not too crazy about EITS.

Knew I'd catch shit for that post.

And yes, the Paper Chase were awful.

I did that too!

Also, didn't The Hives just open up for Maroon 5 a few months back?

And agree with DYOP opening for SWR. How sad is it this is gonna be my 4th time seeing SWR. The first 2 times I wanted to see them, Im completely over them.

To be fair here, isn't any band going to seem "good" next to The Bravery?
