when i used to live off of columbia rd, we'd hire guys off the street to clean our house after parties ... it's amazing how difficult / long it takes to clean up after a couple hundred people

on the bus ride to work every morning, i see the morning shift hanging out front of a sherwin williams store in lower haight/alamo square.

i'm sure santa rosa has its fair share of day laborers, the wineries need people to prune the vines and pick the grapes.  i know that napa and sonoma have large immigrant enclaves thanks to the wineries.

Day laborers have been using the Weenie Beenie in Arlington for as long as I can remember.  Back when I moved furniture for a living we'd pick one or two up every once in a while.  The trick is to find someone you can trust and look for him every time.

No, I'm not from la belle province.  I'm from the midwest.  My Grandfather was from Hamilton, Ontario.  That's about it.

I do love some poutine though.

damn, i hate when your posts make me laugh!

but seriously, when i was in Cancun last year, i saw more mexicans standing outside hotels (the ones doing renovations after the hurricane) looking for work.

some hotels had what mustve been up to 1000 dudes!  sad i suppose, but i was on an air conditioned bus drinking beer and watching a Steve Martin movie!

That's some racist shit right there, Bull.  To be fair about it, had Dupek or one those other cats (For the record, I'm NOT defending him or cats of his ilk) made a post like that you'd be screaming out "Mississippi Burning" and what not.  Yeah, that may have been why were there.  Then again maybe they all just coming thru to cop some ladders. Who knows?

Just cause you may catch me at a Metallica show outside Verizon/MCI/The Phone Booth, it doesn't mean I'm there to scalp tickets or on my way inside to pour beers or usher people in.  I may just be there to see Metallica.  (I use this example, cause it happens ALL. THE. TIME.)  I remember I was walking in the door, & this white cat turns to me with a shocked look & says, "You're here for THIS???!!"  I'm like, um, yeah.  Are ALL of Metallica's fans supposed to be white???

Stereotypes are a slippery slope, homey.  Don't scream bloody murder, & turn around and do the same shit.  It paints (not sayin' you are, cause I don't know you) you out to look like a hypocrite.  Just my two "sense" . . . . [/b]
I am not racist at all.....i just made an observation!!!!

if anyone lives in such a sheltered place to have JUST noticed the hispanic day laborer situation in the Baltimore/DC area is growing faster than a Daisuke Matszuaka fastball, then its their fault.

i know for one, that i pass by at least 100 every day at the 7-11 in Fells Point and have seen then in DC and PG County as well.

i know they're fuckin day laborers...have i asked one though? no.  but i am not stupid.

just like the black dude that stands on the corner on my way home, trying to flag down cars....is he a drug dealer? would i be stereotypiing if i thought he was?  well, he is, and i know, i am not stupid.

did bull say "hispanics are all day laborers"??  no.  what else could they be???

if anything, i think its kinda silly that he needed to point this out on a message board....i figured it was a part of daily life around here and cant believe him and others are just taking notice that MD alone has over 100,000 illegal aliens looking for tax-free work in our towns!

so all of you  STFU!  already.  if you dont like the "mexican" day laborers...close your condo doors and pretend they arent there.
Calm down and take a chill pill. Of course I have seen it on the news. I was just suprised by what I saw and posted. You need a holiday.
