There's also another pitcher on Oakland, can't think of his name, I think it starts with a B and is a long name, anyways he usually pitches about 3 innings of worthless relief or in extra innings. He's supposed to be good also. He was rumoured to take Harden's spot when he was struggling.

do you mean duchscherer?  i had high hopes for him as a starter last year, but he got hammered. . .so, the a's moved him to the pen. . .one of the few consistent relievers the a's have.

Should Rodrigo Lopez be a starter or long reliever?

Long reliever, I heard he does great the first time thru a lineup but supposedly his stuff is easy to figure out the second and third time around.

How do you reconcile your Pirates/Angels love on the Mondesi issue?

I think his injury is a fake - he was just afraid of getting a full dose of battery love next week when he returns to PNC. Either that or it's proof that kharma does indeed exist   ;)

It's easy.  Pittsburgh was happy to get rid of him.  Notice how nobody in Pittsburgh is crying foul about this?  The GM even said that he is happy for Mondi.  Pittsburgh was 4-10 with Mondi in left field, 7-5 with Wilson and 6-6 with Mack.  Starting the day after Mondi left, the Bucs won 8 of twleve.  They have too many players with big hearts for the outfield right now with Wilson, Mack, Bay, Ward, Styne, etc.  Why even bother with Mondi's attitude and the young players?

The real question, is why is Randall Simon even in uniform? Ward was tearing it up until they moved him to RF, now he's in a horrendous slump.  McClendon should have left Ward at first and put Bay and Wilson in the corner outfield slots, Mack in Center rotating with Styne at Third.  Unbelievable.

Anyhow, with Salmon and Lunchbox back tonight, Mondi's departure is kind of a blessing (I figured he'd be a hassle at some point when his playing time decreased).  As long as they stay healthy, Mondi is not going to be missed much.  He's just going to be expensive.

Rhett, Lopez should start.  He just has to avoid the one big inning he keeps giving up.  He looks sick in the other innings.

Adn what do you think of the Ramon Ortiz for Buddy Groom rumors?  Ramon would put Lopez in the pen for sure, and Buddy would be the leftie the Halo's are looking for.
