Amazon to launch mp3 download store
« on: December 19, 2006, 12:29:00 pm »
Apparently all the tracks will be DRM-free MP3s. Is eMusic in trouble? It could be an attractive alternative for those who don't want to subscribe but just get a track once in a while (or who don't want to blow their whole allotment on one Guided by Voices album).

i dunno most eMusic users download the entire album and not the odd track... Plus, eMusic has such a deep catalog of stuff Amazon probably wont carry...

I remember years ago Amazon tried to do this but were blown away when iTunes opened. Amazon was selling whole albums for $18.99 or the single tune for $1.99. I am interested in seeing how this develops though.

Sounds interesting, but the article is incorrect. Scott Ambrose Reilly is not called Bullethead because of his "distinctive scalp".

I download a lot of songs on Amazon.  There's no need to use the downloader... I just click on [Buy] and I get the mp3 file directly.

click on "Your Account" in top right corner.  There will be a section called "Digital Content" and you can redownload the MP3s you've purchased there.

must be your settings, or maybe you should uninstall the downloader thing.  when I browse tunes, I get this icon under the Dowload column: ; if I click it I get the mp3 file directly
