Never would've expected?!  I both expected them to rock and was pleased by their rocking last night . . . amazing show, amazing group.

 Eyes for Fire didn't do it for me, just a bit too . . . heavy . . .

Edit:  Any musical selections for someone who enjoys Apocalyptica?  Thanks in advance.

It's one thing to make snarky comments to regular posters, it's another thing to be a prick to new posters.

Yes, it's much more acceptable to be insulting to people you know than people you don't know.

Actually, it is.

If "Wayne" responded to me like that, it really wouldn't faze me because I know he is generally flippant and I would see the humor in it.  I don't think that someone who is posting here for the first time would necessarily take it in the same vein.

So we must conclude that someone who posts here for the first time is without humour and would be blindsighted if someone made a flippant comment toward them on an internet chatboard? Do you really think the general (most likely under 40) population is truly that emotionally fragile?

Hey Spook,  what about Apocalyptica does it for you?  If it is the cellos you might want to check out Rasputina who play cellos but not necessarily in a "rock" vein.  If it is the strings and rock in general you might want to check out some New Model Army especially "Thunder and Consolation".  Those are the two that jump out to me.  In my estimation that was certainly the excellent surprise show of the  year so far.

DeVotchka is another classic stringed or Chamber type of band that is worth checking out.

I was just listening to Thunder And Consolation the other day. A friend of mine is a major New Model Army fan and decided to upgrade his collection and gave me all of his old NMA CDS along with a Catherine Wheel double. Lucky me!    :D

Definitely agree on that one (see my Bumbershoot review).

Too bad they are not booked for DC this Fall.
