Kool Rock Radio Gets Even Kooler With Rachel's Love
« on: September 14, 2005, 02:22:00 am »
Hello all,

About a week or two ago I had posted about a new venture that I am
involved with which is a very new and completely independent Indie
radio station from Lima, Peru called Kool Rock Radio.

Some of you have actually taken the time to tune in and listen and I
want to thank you for that. I especially want to thank those of you
who have tuned in to my show, "The Trans-Atlantic Underground" along
with those who have requested to be placed on my Friends list at
 MySpace for updates.

Well, I'm back with yet another announcement that I personally find
just as exciting and hope that you do too. Not long after I had
started promoting Kool Rock Radio and The "Trans-Atlantic
Underground", I was contacted by a special person who expressed
interest in joining we at Kool Rock Radio.

After a bit of pitching on her behalf and goings on back and forth, I
am very proud to announce that starting next week, Rachel Goldstar
will be presenting her very own show on Kool Rock Radio called "from
 Austin to Sweden with Love".

Rachel Goldstar/Staggs, as many of you already know, is quite the
talented woman and very much involved in the music community with her
 many projects.

Rachel is probably most well know for her Shoegaze band, Experimental
Aircraft. If you don't know of them, go check them out. They are well
worth it and a favorite of mine that you will hear on The Trans-
Atlantic Underground from time to time.

One of Rachel's more recent projects is her release that she co-
created with Jessica Bailiff called Eau Claire. A very delicate
Shoegazing collection of music with a more feminine touch which was
 released on Clairecords.

Yet another of Rachel's musical endeavors is her collaboration on the
Transistor EP not all that long ago with Monster Movie (yet another
one of my favorites!), who are Christian Savill, formerly of
Slowdive, and Sean Hewson. BTW, there will be more to come with
Rachel and Monster Movie but we'll save that for another time.

And if that isn't enough!!!...Rachel has her own record label called
Rollerderby records with their first release being a compilation
called "The Speed By Which We Fall" which I highly suggest that you
get yourself a copy of. It's well worth it just for all of the
exclusive tracks by some very fine bands let alone the music as a
 collection itself.

Rachel is no beginner when it comes to DJing as she often spins the
tunes at many clubs and bars and other gatherings in the Austin,
Texas area. While attending college, Rachel was a radio DJ and
continued to do so for 10 years.

Needless to say, we at Kool Rock Radio, and you the listeners, are in
 for a real treat!

Please welcome Rachel, visit her MySpace "from Austin to Sweden with
Love" profile, and most importantly, listen and enjoy.

Please don't make yourself a stranger to either Rachel, Kool Rock
Radio or myself. Cozy on up, have a listen, request MySpace
Friendship, comment, or contact us if you like. It's all Kool.
