I think you are wrong. Not that there is anything wrong with being wrong. The Roots are generally an acceptable band amongst most music pricks.

because they are a hip hop act who actually, GASP, plays its own music.

not that theres anything wrong with rapping over a record, like a karaoke singer...

That's usually the majority of hip hop acts I like. The ones that actually play live. Like 2 Skinnee J's  ;)

Forgetting for a second that turntabilism is a viable musical art form, requiring as much practice as a traditional instrument...a number of hip-hop artists actually play their own music.  Does it matter if it was created in the studio using synthesizers, samplers and programs or using traditional instruments?

Like the yawnfest of the acoustic act that was on before them was a good choice too? haha  Yeah there was some 2pac sampled they put in one of their songs for this show.  They were booked because a guy that does booking for them now also does handle a lot of the productions at AU.

Acucrack actually played the night before at Cubik (Buzz) at Nation which of course was more fitting.  They'll be playing Sonar on Oct 7th with Acumen Nation. That's their industrial/rock band they're both in.

I do not doubt that "turntabilism" requires practice...but to say "as much practice as a traditional instrument" is laughable...seriously...sounds like you've never tried picking an instrument before...
