off the top of my head i have a couple rare White Stripes 45s and their box to hold 45s in which was a one point in the top 5 of their rarities

i also have the Christian Marclay "Record Without a Cover" which  can go for a hefty price... mine of course is not in a mint condition :p

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Record_Without_a_Cover

part of thinks this belongs in a library as it's considered a work of art..

my head hurts to think about trying to value my collection

Pfffft. Does it even count if its not on Spotify?

the only piece of vinyl that i own (AKA is sitting in a dusty box in a parents basement... maybe) that might be worth more than the cost of its materials is a misprint of rollins' first spoken word album, "short walk on a long pier."  side A is hank being an early version of hank, but side B is the second side of "Obscurity & Flair" by Breeding Ground (i know this only because i just looked it up).  i ordered the album directly from 2.13.61 and wrote to them asking what was up with the crappy synth-pop on the second side.  they confirmed it was a misprint and that i could send it back for an exchange.  never ended up doing that.

just looked on discogs, someone is selling such a copy for $A80.  I'M RICH!!!

I have that first Bowie reissue box set (Five Years 1969-1973) which apparently had a short run and goes for ~$1000 nowadays.

Post 'em?

881 items.

Min $4,717.83   Med $9,572.91   Max $23,416.59

Lol at the $23k, or really anything over around $5k or so.

Best find for me was:

bought for $1 at an estate sale, may be worth $100.00.

Vast majority I just looked up and clicked the Add to Collection button. I've added 282 items to the database, mostly variants for which I copied the metadata for a release and made a few edits. Some of my entries are fully original but discogs doesn't make it easy to sort those out. The first 1700 or so were added over 8 years ago.

apparently some think otherwise:

Jewel-Box Heroes: Why the CD Revival Is Finally Here
Compact discs never had the romance of vinyl or the convenience of MP3s. But they’re still the ideal format for getting lost inside your music collection

(paywalled, unfortunately)
