I second that sentiment about an earlier flight.  I thought the 1-hour set was tight and we had a great time, but after waiting 5+ hours the word on the street outside the club (that I heard) was that the show was a major letdown.  Maybe if they had gone on at 8:30 and played an hour, fine, but after having us wait so long, at least put on a reasonable show.  Anyone with an eye towards weather knew that we were in for some nasty thunderstorms yesterday.  That said, I wish I had put my dollars to Neko Case instead this week.

If you weren't blown away by 40 mins of BB you must be an idiot...they are one of the most influential bands that have ever recorded, and nothing short of creative genius's. They only release fun party songs as singles just to keep their talents a secret from the masses, and only the chosen few get to hear the real work of these masters of sampling. Shame on you for expressing anything less than god-like worship about this trio.

I was certainly not blown away.

I'm glad I got to see them -- they were on my list of "Bands/Acts I want to see before I or they cease to exist." I've always wanted to see them.

But I was not blown away. It was three old guys and a dude with a boom box. One of the old guys obviously didn't give a flip and didn't want to be there. The other two couldn't wait to dance their asses back off the stage.

I did dig "Shake your rump" though. And I was impressed they played "Brass Monkey", though it looked like MCA wanted to crawl behind the turntables and start crying.

Here, I can save it.

Hey 9:30, why do you keep putting on these super cool special events when all everybody does is bitch about it?

They bitched because they didn't like the ticket buying process.

They bitched if they didn't get tickets.

 They bitched about standing line.

They bithced because they couldn't smoke.

They bitched about not having bottled beers.

They bithced because there were too mnay people, yet not enough tickets.

They bitched because you guys were preventing scalping.

They bitched that they were patted down.

They bitched that the sponsor's DJ suck.

They bitched about the sponsors banner.

They bitched because young people got in.

They bitched that the band was late.

They bitched because the band didn't play long enough.

They bitched that the band didn't play instruments.

They bitched because the band made poor travel plans.

They bitched because you guys were keeping order.

They bitched because because they felt like they were back in high school.

They bitched because one member wasn't in full Beastie mode.

I mean, why do you even bother trying to please the greater DC area and bring cool bands in?

By the way, though I wasn't at the show, I'll be the first on the board to say "thanks" for bringing cool shit 'cause you rock, not just thanks for answering all my bitchy questions.
