that's a pretty progressive playlist there for the most vanilla artist i can think of ... did you see a lot of people scratching their heads down below?  did you actually have to stay for five for fighting?

I have to admit I was also quite surprised to see Nick Cave and Cathal Coughlan and several others on a playlist for Five for Fighting!

Surprised me too. As I was reading the list, I kept thinking, 'Wait a minute, maybe Five For Fighting sounds different than I thought they sounded.'.

Nice to see Blow Up Hollywood on your list. I have them on either one of my compilations or played them on one of my radio shows (can't remember which) that I created maybe a year or so ago but never hear anyone ever talk about them.

All in all, that's a nice playlist. A bit rich for that crowd but maybe you've made a few converts.   ;)

Thanks for the comments guys. I did not have to stay around for Five for Fighting as there was no DJ needed after the show.

As for my song selection the general theme was piano, given that five for fighting are a very piano-centric group....however I don't do 'vanilla' very well, so instead went for a pleasing to the ear selection of songs from great, and in most cases underappreciated artists, most of which prominently featured piano. Even the Cathal Coughlan song was fairly accessible compared to most of his work....he has a habit of including at least one song on every album that you can play without scaring folks off.
