doesn't totally fit in w/the rest of the stuff mentioned on here, but for someone like me who is barely capable of rocking -- let alone RAWKing -- when the mood hits i usually reach for mclusky. particularly "mclusky do dallas."

Do you have any idea on the lineup?  Will it be Brock/Turner?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is rock and roll hotel?  Is it that house where you feature acts?

nah, my house is 611 florida. too small for hawkwind-related acts.

the rock and roll hotel is the new venue on h street, capacity 300.

not sure who is in the current line-up, but brock is definitely in and turner is definitely not. probably richard chadwick, who has drummed for them for the past 20 or so years.

guaranteed excellence. saw 'em in 1995 and 1997 and both were amazing shows.

It's a century bike ride out near Strasburg, can't recall the formal name. To prepare, I've been going down to Haines Point and doing laps. That can get boring after 10 or so laps, so the music is key.

And if Hawkwind comes around, I'll be there front and center. I'm late to them, but I listened to Hall of the Mountain Grill again today and just love those guys.

They are all good, but start here.  Also, Live at the Googolplex would be a good intro.  It's kind of like a greatest hits album.

Exactly!  :)   As for albums to check out, the self-titled mentioned above is excellent, as is Pure Rock Fury. Stay away from Elephant Riders, possibly their worst (but still would blow other bands away) album.  :(

Rumor has it from what I've heard, even though we're not rock (damn two plugs in one day's posting time) that people love to work out to our albums since they're upbeat and driving tempos!

How about a little JB? Of course, I'm talking James Blunt here.
