I am going for sure.  along with about 10 of my friends who are brunching it before we head up to Pimlico.
 
  I know about 25 people going and not one of them is a 20 year old virgin (not that i know any 20 year old virgins).
 
  It remains to be seen what kind of crowd will show up.  I have mixed feelings on whether it will be a more festival type crowd, or a rock concert type crowd.
 
  But i am happy that i dont have such a closed mind and define generalizations of everything in life that i dont even want to try new things.

You guys enjoy. I hate festivals...it's hard to be blown away by any band on a festival setting (exception: Arcade Fire during Download Festival '05).

 because it seems to me, when bands get on a stage much larger than their normal stage, they would pull out all the stops to be extra special and win over lots of new fans.
 
  I know when we used to do "rave parties" whenever we'd just a bunch of the best DJs together, all of their sets were amped up x3.
 
  bands like Clap your Hands say yeah, new pornos, kasabian and drive by truckers have a lot to gain by playing these kind of shows, while bands like the Killers and Gnarls have a chance to prove they arent just some overhyped crap machine. (gnarls proved to me...they are!!!)
 
  i guess, in theory, thats how it should work anyway.

Sure they have a lot to gain, which is good.
 It's just hard to enjoy any band (in general) on a big setting...the heat, the walk (between stages), the sound, the lack of intimacy...that sort of thing.
