Who's going? The tickets appear to be in high demand. Also, Spin dubbed them "the most hated band in America." thoughts?

Friday's show starts great with Nic Armstrong on goes down hill after that.  I'm totally diggin Nic's British Invasion sound, then again 30something is in my rear view mirror.

The Dead 60's off come as Clash recording session outtakes, will be interested in their live show.

The Bravery sure get no love from some Ash fans, to me they are the most ignorable band in America.  One half decent song and lots of borrowed style for these catz.  Then again their typical fans has never even heard of the Revillos from which they copped their look, so it doesn't really even matter.  I'll be on my way home by the time The Bravery hit the stage...

I must say that i am really curious to see The Bravery again. I was at their show when Ash was supposed to be the headliner and I liked the music alot although I had problems with the singers voice.
Why the most hated band in America? Anyways, I still think they just sold out because their whole old high school is coming to the show, like it was with the show at the Black Cat.

...VERY interesting.  I'm doing the same, Kosmo.  I'd suggest anyone with tickets for Friday make it a point to get there for Nic Armstrong; his guitar skills are really great - high energy rock.  Never caught Live 60's, but a 930 staffer who's heard a lot of bands over the years, highly recommends them.  Bravery? I've got Bravery overload, having seen them three times in six months. Still searching for a reason to love 'em, but they aren't THAT bad...I'm leaving before their set too.  SO much music, so little time.

well, they really said it was mostly NYC who hated them, but i think they are complete and total manufactured crap, no better than NKOTB ... there was a great article (village voice? new yorker?) about their frontman and his secretive nature about his age and background, it reminded me a lot of the vanilla ice fiasco and exposed their group as the hacks that they are.

Exactly, with a little Gang of Four on occasion and some early Joe Jackson sounds.  Can't put my finger on it, and am still debating if I should like it.  But make no mistake, it hasn't stopped me from listening to it over and over again.

Hate em - party of two. My gf and I saw them at a festival in Columbus and they were deplorable. The lead singer spent the bulk of their time on stage perfecting his faux Morrisey posing.

The Dead 60's are a better band and they should headline the show. The Dead 60's will rock.

What's the difference? Dunno. Wasn't really interested, so didn't inspect them.

since you were clearily trying to make one of your passive agressive "points" about the dead 60s by implying a pile of used cd indicated that people thought they sucked and were selling them back.

a promo cd is one set out to any of a number of outlets to promote the product. (radio stations, djs, clubs, street teamers, magazines, record stores, independent record promoters) a promo can appear to be used since it's open but will usually take some sort of sticker indicates it's a promo, or a indent/hole in the case.  as is the often case someone is trying to raise a little cash by selling thier promos.  given the fact the cd just came out that pile of used cds is probably someone cashing in their promos.

could be that some radio station got a stack to give away and some intern decided to pocket the cash instead...
