I know people are supposed to be able to get great prices for their stuff on eBay, etc., but (for me) I don't think it's worth the hassle of having to package the items, take them to the post office, etc., etc.
there is some up-front effort (ordering a bunch of #1 padded envelopes, stamps, return address labels online), but you'd be surprised at how easy it is once you get that out of the way
it generally doesn't save money to send a CD media mail or anything other than normal 1st class mail, so you just stamp them up and set them out every day for your mailman ... amazon sends you the buyer's name/address, you just print it out and tape it to the front of the package ... at one point i was sending upwards of 4 packages a day and it was really really simple
you'll get killed on price at a brick-and-mortar store compared to selling online, and if you're selling a lot of CDs it will really add up
depending on what you're selling, you'll be amazed at how much $ you can get for your discs ... if you're trying to dump some hootie and NKOTB albums, you're SOL, but it's amazing to see how strong the used cd "market" is for classic alternative/indie albums ... i was regularly getting $7-9 a CD for bands like
my bloody valentine,
jesus & mary chain, etc
