PDXers
« on: April 13, 2007, 12:04:00 pm »
I'm heading to Portland for a bachelor's party in about 4 hours.

I haven't been there since I was 5.  What does "rain" mean to a PDXer?  Are talking light drizzle or something more for tomorrow?

 Thanks in advance.

rain means its just another day

it shouldnt be too heavy, there is rarely a downpour, and may not rain for most of the day, lately its just been raining for a little while during the day, to tell you the truth the rain doesnt register with me all that much anymore, so i may just be imagining that its short, just bring a light rain coat or something

Perfect, thanks Pollard.  I was trying to pack light...

If you're out tomorrow night at any strip joints, don't miss the opportunity to say hi.  First lap dance is on me.

I think there is only 1 strip club in portland (1 on every block that is)

unlikely I will be hanging out in strip clubs tomorrow night, but maybe we can get a drink when you are up here again without bachelor party commitments

Would love to get a drink next time.

I quite enjoyed your city.  The rain, as you said, was more of an annoyance than anything else.  Don't know that I would want to live there, but certainly had a good time this weekend and will certainly return.  I'm pretty sure my whole life changed after Voodoo Donuts - and I'm not sure if it changed for the better.

I was pretty drunk at the time and my buddy had a zen moment remembering that a crazy donut place was nearby.  I walked into the place started freaking out and he put the bacon maple bar in front of me and said "eat this - it will calm you down" and I'm pretty sure it tweaked me more.

anthony bourdain felt the same way when presented with his options at voodoo donuts.

btw, congratuations, you visited the winner of food network's "delicious destination of the year" which goes to "a rising city with a fast-growing food scene," beating out minneapolis, and the tastefully named portland, maine.

I had to wiki that.

And you can count the number of times I ate this weekend on one hand.  I remember voodoo donuts around 1 AM and a pita at around 3:30 or 4:00 AM.

next to marys eh? I will have to look, I dont even remember where you are talking about and I dont live that far from there, if you were near the minor league baseball stadium at all I am a couple blocks from there

I have asked a lot of people who have lived here for a long time and I never get any strong endorsements for Mexican places
