Wanted to, but spent the night nursing NyQuil.  How well attended was it?

yeah the Tall Firs fell short, did not sound good at all but the drummer was pretty excellent.

Emily was amazing, her album is an instant classic! The seated show concept fit nicely but it was COLD AS FUCK in there!!!

Attendance was not bad, but should have been more, all well, her time is still yet to come.

What made it amazing?

From the reviews I've read, she plays the album, in order, with no energy whatsoever.

an absurdly rabid fanbase (how did emily haines get such insanely positive fans?) = everything is amazing, especially in the post-coital haze of a show

ggw, what energy do you expect from a singer who sings depressing songs?

I'm not a Metric fan, but this album floored me..maybe it was the timing of when i got it..i really really like it..and it was played spot on last night...outstanding backing band, her voice in top form..it made it great in my book. And yes, the club was cold last night.. first night out in smokeless DC and i fookin loved it!

Has she ever written &/or sung a dirge about global carbon dioxode levels???
Interview with Emily Haines of Metric:

Artist most want to duet with? Neil Young

Most recent discovery? A kind of pollution called dimming, which is like global warming, but itâ??s actually the reason we donâ??t feel it getting hotter. Itâ??s another layer of pollution thatâ??s cooling things down. And if that were to actually recede, which it will, because we have to reduce pollution, weâ??re gonna find that in fact the projections of global warming are double what we anticipated.

Im certainly not rabid but Hoya remember we saw Metric open for the Stills like 3 years ago...Been enamored with them since. Really dig both albums and they obviously put on a great show.

Listened to the 930 show last night. Very nice.

well duh, she's canadian... must have been feeling homesick.  some singers request non-smoking shows, she must have requested non-heated.
