did anyone try getting AC/DC tix?
« on: September 20, 2008, 03:38:00 pm »
if so, had any luck?  that had to have been one of the fastest sell-out i've witnessed in a while.  not sure U2 shows sell out that quickly (cue predictable response, "U2 sold out years ago"   :p  )

i got incredible seats for philly through the fan club, but the GF who was trying on another computer pulled a pair in the 400's - once she finally got through.  by 10:08 we couldn't pull up anything.

My guess is there will be tons of tickets to be had at face value in the days leading up to the show.  There always is for big-hyped shows these days, with everyone and their mother trying to be a craigslist/ebay scalper.

I'm just curious about the paperless tickets.  I don't care for the idea.  I appreciate a band trying to be fair to their fans, and thwart scalping.  But, if they are indeed entirely non-transferable, some fans will be left in a lurch when circumstances come up and they have to eat their tickets.  At $100+ per ticket (after Ticketmaster charges), I don't think this will prove to be very popular.

If anyone has seen the more "premium seating," is it ALL paperless?  I read as many as 3,000 tickets per show would be.  So, does that mean all of the floor, and best lowers, or can you choose other delivery options if it's not via fan club?

I forgot this morning about the show then realized at 1030 they were on sale.  I logged in at 1040 and couldn't pull tickets my first try thought it was sold out.  Tried again and then pulled 400.  Tried again and I got a floor seat section 4 so I just jumped on that.

I was trying since 10 and ended up getting section 1 floor seats at 10:30.  Looks like they released the good seats later on?

Wondering how paperless will work without it being general admission.  We will need some sort of ticket or something so everyone gets the right seat.

I got thru and a ticket came up, but I could not bring myself to drop $110 on 400 level seat facing the back side corner of the stage.  Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD, and be happy with the one time I did see them, at the Atlanta Symphony Hall in the summer of '78 That ticket cost $6.50, as I recall.

I didn't know about this whole paperless thing.  I guess that might cut down on the amount of people trying to unload seats they were unable to scalp in the days before the show.
