50 Dark Movies, Hidden in a Painting
« on: September 27, 2006, 10:07:00 am »
A fun little game for horror movie fans, presented by M&M'S Dark Chocolate.  I was able to get 48 of them, but had to cheat on two.

Damn, but some of those are difficult.  I only got 15 so far.

Yeah, some of the easiest (in retrospect) were the most difficult for me.  And I had a bitch of a time even finding some of the clues.  Still, it was incredibly addicting.

I just cannot get the guy with the baskets, the lady with 2 kids, the 3 kids dancing around and the hermit.

Those are the exact two that stumped me, although I had a hell of a time with the knife (duh) and the lady with the kids (double duh).

the lady with the kids stumped me for a while.  the dark cave in the corner got me too.  i kept typing in "the cave," hoping it would change its mind and make that the right answer.  that's odd, because i really dig the movie that is the right answer.

this is an odd mix of old/new and popular/obscure movies.  i had a lot of fun with it.

I've got 21 right now.  Believe it or not, the fish one is stumping me, I know its going to be an easy one too.

it's not "big fish."  it's a great campy horror movie from the late 70's.

Lee Majors, right?  I loved that as a kid.  Although  my grasp on the proper spelling threw me for a loop for a while on that one.

i don't think there's anybody of note in that movie.    i just checked imdb, and lee majors was in "killer fish."  close, i guess.

It's Joe Dante's first movie, produced by Roger Corman.

BTW, the grim reaper was pretty easy for me.

Did anyone get the two guys on the stairs?

I've gotten 48 -- all but that one and the 'cave' off to the far right.

the two guys on the stairs:  a remake of a japanese movie that came out a couple of years ago.  the sequel is coming out soon.

the cave: takes place on another planet. bug monsters come up out of the ground and kill people.
