Neighborhood Safe?
« on: March 25, 2005, 11:55:00 am »
Is the neighborhood around the club safe?  I am going to the one tree hill show and wanted to know.

I thought this thread was going to be about a safe that we could all put our belongings in when we go to the club.

the neighborhood surrounding 930 has had a rash of indian attacks lately.  all concert attendees are reminded that it may be a good idea in these instances to carry your musket with you, loaded, rather than leaving it on your horse or in your tentcamp.  keep your women and children in your camp.
there has also been a biscuit theif on the loose.  next time you make your biscuits, it is recommended that you have your woman hide them in your wagon rather than leaving them out to cool.  (these thefts may be propagated by animals rather than vagrants or hoodlums, we don't know)
finally, remember to be on the lookout for tonic salesman impersonators.  when you buy your tonic from a travelling salesman in this neighborhood, be warned that a hoodlum has recently been selling sasparilla in tonic bottles, much to the chagrin of his customers.

Impossible. It is simply not possible for the Decemberists to do anything bad. They are the most musically creative and lyrically brilliant band of all times. Both Pitchfork and Bigyawn like them, right?

Hmm... I'd blame the 9:30, its staph and the entire neighborhod for that one.  I mean, isn't it really their fault for not putting a big banner above the entrance saying "WARNING:  DON'T LEAVE CRAP IN YOUR CAR.  PEOPLE WILL STEAL JUST ABOUT ANYTHING IN SIGHT"?  Give me a break.  It's an urban neighborhood.  Cars get broken into in Dupont, Tenleytown, Shaw and -- get ready for the real shocker -- even Bethesda.  Scary, I know.

By the way, who's Gavin Degraw and how does his suckiness have anything to do with the neighborhood, or was the thief just looking to add insult to injury?

(yes, I got the joke in the original post)

I blame Gavin Degraw. I heard he sends his street team into nearby neighborhoods to break into cars and steal shit to finance his coke habit.

ok 1702 is recommending removing your stereo yourself before parking any where in the DC Metro area...that's brilliant.
