Smoking in DC?
« on: July 28, 2005, 09:24:00 am »
Just moved back to DC area after a long absence, and have not been to the "new" 9:30 yet. Considering going to a show, but my wife is feeling the effects of pregnancy. In other words, if smoking is allowed, we won't be going to a show.

So, what is the deal with smoking in the venue?

it is allowed, unless the artist asks for it not to be, which is rare

Thanks.

I meant to ask in my original post about other venues. I suppose the same holds true everywhere (Black Cat, etc.).

Not that I have anything against smoking, mind you. It is just a restriction based on my wife's "condition"!

People smoke.  Call the club and tell them you want to bring your pregnant wife to a show.  Maybe they can put you in the vip area where it may not be quite as smokey.

Some shows are much smokier than others...who is it?

Just stand at the door, and ask all patrons not to smoke during the show. DC people are usually pretty generous and accommodating about such things.

Interesting idea. Who knows, might just work.

If your wife doesn't go with you, I guess you will be dating yourself.   :p

Oh yeah...sure.  At least as comfortable as an 8 months pregnant women can be.  It was a great show too and we'll always remember it - our last big night out before our daugter was born.  A great memory.
