No, not at all. I don't think TD2K (or whatever they're called now) woke up and went, "Oh, hey $55 - that's a good ticket price!" No doubt their management and market analysts told them they could charge that much and still sellout venues, or just simply made the decision for them. Is it presumptuous if you're offered two jobs and take the one with 3 times the salary?

According to the market, I'd guess so. I may not personally feel that way, but the masses do.

I don't understand how everyone can begrudge people for doing exactly what everyone of us does in almost any financial situation ever.

They must have the same delusional management as Devo.

Lunch is for Whimps, Greed is good. Ok Gordon Gecko.

Personally I dont think the price is really unreasonable, but I do not want to see the show, either. I would laugh if it turned out like Peter Gabriels overpriced tour.....

I'm sure if they could be making more money playing larger venues for less, someone will point that out to them and they'll have different management soon. Darwin taught me stuff works like that.

It was at the MCI center, I had no interest in going, but I seem to remember the cheap seats being $80 something.

People people we've gotten way off the topic here.  The point is that a Morrison-less Doors fronted by Ian Asbury, at any price, is just about the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.  Almost as dumb as INXS having a reality TV show to choose their next singer.

Yeah the stupidest thing about it all is I would pay $55 to see the cult at the 9.30 club.

Devo could be playing larger venues but the production costs go up because they have to bring in a PA, Lights, etc... Where as at the club all that is already available.

I always cringe over those ticket prices for 80s acts.  Most of the time you'll get one orginial member typically the singer and a band of hired hands.

The English Beat should be Dave Wakeling's English Beat which is interchangable with DW's General Public.  While Dave was one of the chief songwriters he certainly isn't the most interesting member of that group, and really for me not a compelling reason for wanting to lay out money to see his version of the English Beat. That would be either Rankin Roger or Saxa.  It's a shame Dave and Roger can't get their differences sorted out and work together.  As they are each still doing English Beat material seperately.

Midly interested in ABC after the bands reunited special.  Can't find on his website but at one point he had a semi permanent new group of ABCites.

Although I'm not opposed to 'reunion tours' in general, some bands cannot 'reunite' unless all original members are included. The Doors would be one of these bands. The Doors were basically Jim Morrison and some other blokes.

That's just as bad as The Smiths without Morrissey. (Or Marr to a lesser extent)

Some bands could get away with it, the Stones being one of them. If any member popped off at any given time they could be replaced and life would go on as the Stones...yes, even Jagger. This is becasue all the band members are pretty much rockstars in their own right, whereas some bands are only as big as their front man/woman, and the Doors come into that category...IMHO of course.

ABC!!! Funny you mention them as we played Lexicon of Love just last night. What a great album that is, and I say that knowing some will mock but you can all feck off!
