Don't you mean Doors of the 21st Century?

In fact, didn't John Densmore win his court case against these guys?  You better hope he doesn't come sue you for using that name here....

Maybe the thought that these guys actually want to play music on stage together again for the sake of it being fun never crossed your mind. Don't they make enough money off of royalties alone anyway?

Besides, the Money Grubbing Whore title proudly goes to the Pixies, my favorite band. At least they know they're making their fans happy by giving them what they want. Rawk'n'roll!!

Nobody's making you pay that money. Who knows what kind of production costs they have. And besides, most people who would pay that kind of dough to see them are well into their 50's and probably go to a concert once every couple of years...not that I am saying that bands should charge that much for a show. But I also think that their motivations might be different than what you say because I'm sure that the Doors still make a ton of money off their records alone. There's no need for them to tour at this stage in their lives, especially since Manzarek had a stroke last year. Maybe he figures it's his last shot to try to play some music.

And by the way, I didn't call you any names, so don't resort to that kind of infantile shit please. That's just rude and that sort of thing shouldn't be encouraged.

So because their audience is in their 50's, that gives them the right to charge $55? Way to show the love for the fans.

Most people in their 50's have budget items that your typical 25 year old concert goer does not: children, mortgage, car payments, aging parents, etc. They probably have less money for nonessentials like concerts than a 25 year old.

Why can't Manzarek sit in his wheelchair at home and play the music? If he's that close to death, seems like he'll rob the fans blind with a third rate performance.

 Got that, hairyballs?

If I could do my job for my current salary, or I could do the exact same thing for 3 times as much money, I'd be considered a moron to choose to make a third of what I could. Rock bands aren't ever afforded the same opportunity for some reason.

Those are just the loser 50-year olds who work for the government because they can't hack it in the real world.

Rhett, what's the matter? It's Friday, chill the fuck out. Most 50-somethings are on the tail-end of paying mortgages. Their kids are off at school and they're settled into their careers and pulling in decent salaries. Your logic makes no sense to me. The average 25-year-old has major credit card debt, student loans to pay off, a below-average salary and they're just getting started. That's the age that you're on one of the tightest budgets.

Hairyballs? Whatever. Grow up and learn some manners. The rest of us are laughing our asses off at you.

My wife considers you a moron no matter what your salary is. Can't say I'd argue with her on that one.

It is somewhat presumptuos. Are they really worth twice as much as Chuck Brown? Or 3 times as much as Puffy Ami Yummi?

Or 2.2X ABC & THE ENGLISH BEAT?
