I would like to see one of these "whole album in order" sets at VFest. But not GZA.

Are you kidding me??? I'm assuming you're not a hip-hop fan cause "Liquid Swordz" is arguably, in my opinion is, the greatest Wu-Tang album ever made.  Take a listen . . . . the beats by RZA & wordplay by Genius is hip-hop at its finest.

I think I saw that Comets on Fire is also going to be doing this, performing Blue Cathedral in its entirety. Which would rule cock.

At Pitchfork?  Geezus, I may have to bite the bullet and use a day or two.  This is too sweet to pass up.  At this point, I'd fly out just for Friday!

Shit, I might have to back-pedal on this -- I just checked Pitchfork and didn't see it, and I remember it being somewhat front and center on the line-up. I also remember thinking, when I saw it, "Wow, I didn't realize they had fans there," which means it might be an international festival. But whichever festival it is, it also featured SY doing Daydream and Slint doing Spiderland.

I think of Liquid Swordz and Cuban Linx as flip sides of the same coin and each represent the pinnacle of Wu Tang - if not hip hop, period.

whenever i hear the opening to the first track i get so psyched

 ------------------

When I was little... my father was famous.
 He was the greatest samurai in the empire;
and he was the Shogun's decapitator.
He cut off the heads of a hundred and thirty-one lords.
It was a bad time for the empire.
The Shogun just stayed inside his castle -- and he never came out.
People said his brain was infected by DEVILS.
My father would come home -- he would forget about the killings.
He wasn't scared of the Shogun, but the Shogun was scared of him.
 Maybe that was the problem.
Then, one night... the Shogun sent his ninja spies to our house.
They were supposed to kill my father... but they didn't.
 *woman screams*
That was the night everything changed *voice fades*

If I saw this, I honestly don't know if I'd bother going to shows anymore.  This is some holy grail shit.
