I'll be heading to the show. Much more to see Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, but I am looking forward to seeing Oasis play some of their hits. Last time I saw them, like 7 years ago, was with the Black Crowes and they weren't playing Wonderwall and some others, which was fine because Slide Away was played, along with some other non-hits. But now I want to see them play some of the big hits.

Well my fear of getting lost in Fairfax isn't that it's a scary place, just that it's somewhere I've never been and don't know how to navigate. My worry about it being at night isn't because I think all the dangerous people will be out, just that it'll be too dark for me to see streets and signs well. I grew up in a relatively traffic-free part of the Midwest, and even though I've been in DC five years now, I still don't know my way around when it comes to going beyond city limits, and I can count on one hand the number of times I've driven here. I would like to avoid driving because it is not an ideal option for me personally, but if it turns out to be by far the most practical one, then I'll do it if I have to.

Any other set lists floating around for this tour?

The brothers Gallagher don't do varying setlists.  I'll be shocked if it isn't exactly what was written a few pages back.  The only hope is they do something special as its the last show before Christmas.  There's a cool Noel version of "Merry Xmas Everyone" by Slade floating around.

it'd be cool to see Oasis and Ryan Adams play something together since this is the last show of their touring together. I don't believe they have done anything together on the tours. It'd be fun to see live.

I hope Oasis gets Ryan Adams to come out telling him they'll do his version of Wonderwall for the crowd, and just as he starts they start to play "Summer of '69" - I would love Oasis more than I ever have, and I didn't think that was possible.

Wait.... you mean.... they're not the same person?!?!?!? Consider my mind officially blown, and it's not an easy thing to blow my mind.

Now, what's this I hear about some cars being the color blue. I mean, c'mon now, let's get real here.

so what did everyone think?

maybe i just don't get ryan adams but i thought that was a pretty comatose/boring set...at least he was sober and wasn't drunkenly rambling like the only other time i saw him..i don't know what i'm going to tell my friend who couldn't come but absolutely loves ryan..there's so many people that swear by him but i just don't know what they see...

i enjoyed the oasis...they definitely don't work very hard.. hardly broke a sweat i'd say...and noel is a fairly mediocre guitarist (performing wise not songwriting wise)... but they have some great songs and to my ears the band sounded great and noel/liam both sounded wonderful on vocals (although liam it seemed couldn't hit a note or two every once in a while)...also liam is pretty darn static...he's got the same way of standing and singing during the entire show!..not sure what george harrison was doing playing keyboards as i thought he'd passed away... i thought don't look back in anger was a highlight....sounded great...i put up a few pix and a little video at www.47west63rd.blogspot.com

every once in a while its nice to see a band that at least act like they are rock stars...at least i appreciate it....some of the songs i wasn't familiar with sounded cool too..

final verdict
ryan adams 4/10
oasis  8/10

where i was at...about 10th row center on the left they could not care less who videod..surprising... a nice trend with bands allowing fans to video fully well realizing the stuff only serves to promote them (youtube, etc) and the fans will buy the more professional tour dvd anyways..

That's funny.  I never saw Ryan Adams before and am not that familiar with his stuff, but I thought his set was pretty good and thought they were pretty loose on stage cracking jokes (trying to) on the audience.

I thought Oasis was pretty comparable to when I saw them at Merriweather last.  They are not going to blow you away with their stage show but the songs more than make up for that.  Liam is Liam and his crowd stares when he isn't singing, I think is hilarious.  I thought it was a very enjoyable show.

matt Costa was also a good opener.

Show was alright.  Oasis is Oasis.  Ryan Adams was ok and so was Matt Costa.  I hoarded some videos of Oasis.  However, a security guy got to me and yelled no recording.  So I didn't get any of my favs.  I was thinking to myself there is like 20,000 other people recording what the hell.  Also the guy looked like the same guy that works at Verizon center who yelled at me before.   Some old crumagen guy.  Scrooge.
