agreed - i left the rapture show last night with the impression that these guys are going places (and no, i don't mean that they're going on tour, which they are). i liked the energy and the diversity of their show. great crowd, the whole place was hopping. t'was about 2/3 or 3/4 full, not bad for a school-night late show. it's been a long couple of weeks for me, so dancing was much needed - and danceable it was. highly recommended.
the presets were damn good too, their sound translated even better on stage that I thought it would. singer had good stage presence, other dude could have been a little livelier. a great 40 minutes of electro-punk (or whatever triffling label folks stick on that genre these days).
how was the national?
p.s. there was another underage drunk that was kicked out last night shortly after he walked in, and stuck around forever on the sidewalk arguing about the lack of refund and demanding an apology... same'ol same'ol. my polite advice to the underaged: decide if you want to drink, or if you want to see the show. at the 930, ya don't get both.
